Festival of Navroz at ICB

The Ismaili Council for British Columbia
invites you to join us to celebrate the
Festival of Navroz
at the
Ismaili Centre, Burnaby

Many communities and cultures around the world celebrate the festival of Navroz (Nowruz) as the beginning of a new year and the first day of spring. More generally, it signifies a time of spiritual renewal and physical rejuvenation, as well as the spirit of gratitude for blessings and an outlook of hope and optimism towards the future.

The festival of Navroz celebrates a century-old, agrarian custom that over time was integrated into various cultures and faith traditions. Today, Navroz is celebrated in many parts of the Middle East and Central South Asia, particularly among people influenced by Persian and Turkic civilizations.

This event will showcase a diverse selection of cultural performances including poetry, dance and music from a variety of cultures and communities. Refreshments will be served.
